Season’s results: Rahvapinks 1st place, top 300
Like everywhere in the world, Covid-19 caused a premature end to the table tennis season in Estonia. Nevertheless this was a great season for me in term of results, excitement and fun.
Rahvapinks season: Very good!
My main objective this season was to make a podium at Rahvapinks 400+ season’s ranking. I felt I really needed to improve my consistency in competitions. A good season ranking would be a proof of my improvements there.
The season started great and after 5 competitions it was time to revise my ambitions up: I was first and anything else at the end would be a big disappointment.
I won the next one (making it two gold this season) and then added 2 silver medals in stage 7 and 8. The two last finals were both very exciting, as I lost them 2–3 after a great fight.
The last 2 competitions were cancelled due to Covid-19. With from far the best results of all competitors that season, I took the first place!
Klassi 400+ võitis kokkuvõttes 1196 punktiga Vincent Oberle, kes oli kõikidel etappidel suhteliselt stabiilne. Teine oli Veljo Mõek 1184 ja kolmas Aleksei Gussarov 1183 punktiga.
The rules were to take the best 6 results.
In addition to the best point total, I also won 7 medals.
Rating: Top 300!
In previous seasons, I had a drop in results after Christmas. This time I avoided this. So my rating raised a lot and I made it for the first time in the top 300 men in Estonia!
Of course I would have loved to finish the season. The last two Rahvapinks would have been great fun and I was also very much looking forward to the Veteran Estonian championship.
But time to look forward and to try to put more items in my trophy shelf :-)
